One of the few long exposure photographs I managed to take during my second stay in Rio de Janeiro. As I was walking with my camera in some Leblon and Copacabana areas (and Urca here in the picture), I was warned by some of the locals to be very mindful of my equipment. I appreciate every single concern shown by them. But at the same time I wanted to give justice and some glimpse into how I was seeing this Brazilian city.
As I was taking pictures in in that same location a moment earlier, an adolescent approached me, selling some street snacks. I declined politely explaining that I didn't have cash nor Pix. But I declined in Portuguese. The reaction of the boy? "Olá, irmãaaaaaa" with a handshake and a reaction full of surprise that a "gringa" spoke Portuguese. I speak Portuguese because I live in Portugal, but I imagine it's not so common in Brazil. And the fact that a tourist spoke their language could have been a moment of realization that some tourists are more mindful than others. At least I hope it was.

It was one of the mornings with less rain in the forecast during my 1-week stay in Biarritz. I am a sunset lover. I am a night own. But I am also a lucky photographer who got up in cold and darkness, put on some warm clothes, grabbed the heavy gear and... was rewarded with this amazing sunrise golden hour lightplay.
If I knew all sunrises would begin my day in this style, I'd change my sleeping habits to wake up at 5am, I swear 🙈

One of the takes from the couple photoshoot on the beach in Lagoa da Albufeira with @lashgirlore and @rdob17 🙌🏼. The weather was just perfect: not too warm, no wind, some light high clouds, and the receding tide.
Some will say that huge beaming smiles are a bit "too much" but I adore the natural laughs and smiles like the ones in the first photo, they immediately light up the photo!

October 13, 2024, Praia da Ursa, Portugal. This long exposure seascape was taken as part of the sunset workshop. The first attempt to go to Praia da Ursa a few weeks earlier ended up with our arriving at Cabo da Roca, being welcomed by the mist (in Portuguese, nevoeiro) very common in the area, and going back home. When we returned to the beach the second time, it was all the more gratifying - warm weather conditions and no wind, and amazing side-light by the setting sun.

April 24, 2025, Cabo de São Vicente, Portugal. I spent some days in Sagres in the south-westernmost part of Portugal. The original plan was to capture a landscape with the lighthouse of Cabo de São Vicente. I took a few pictures of it, yes. But what caught my attention and emotions even more was the glowing disc of the sun slowing approaching the horizon, more and more shrouded by the raising fog. What looks like clouds in the distance in this picture was actually a blanket fog coming in over the cape. Right after the sun disappeared below the horizon, the fog arrived in full force like a curtain closing at the end of a spectacle.

May 1, 2026, Dubrovnik, Croatia. Palm trees can be found in many places around the world. They come in many types, heights, and shapes. One thing in common? Whenever you see them you can feel the summer vibes. I like to capture their leaves and shapes when they contrast with the azure and turquoise waters or when they appear as dark silhouettes against the warm tones of the sunset sky. A note for myself: I have to create a collection of photographs with a palm trees as a main theme.

September 11, 2025, Biarritz, France. When I was envisioning my 1-week trip to Biarritz, I imagined a week full of every-day photoshoots at sunrise and sunset. In practice, it resulted in a week of clouds and rain and winds, only with 2 days of sunny evenings: the sunset on the day I arrived and one evening in the middle of the week. I still tried to do my best on the other days when the rain (or rather lack of it) allowed it. This long exposure landscape overlooking the Plage du Port Vieux was taken from the viewpoint next to the Monument au Général de Gaulle.
